Thank you Claire, I appreciate you sharing your technique. I have sent you an email in the past regarding the subject of technique and I don’t want you to think I was after your secrets either. 🙂 No one could be you 🙂

  2. Adding my thanks, too, Claire. You rock. 🙂

  3. Yes yes yesssssthis is the little gothic baby doll I need for my little girl to go with all the Nightmare before Xmas decorations and gothicbaby paintings I have.
    Tu-tu cute =)
I need it in cloth though (organic cotton)

  4. I really enjoy your artwork. Have you ever posted the technical process of how you create your work?
I’d be interested to hear how you go from idea to wacom to web.

You have a great style, thanks for sharing your work.

  5. Ditto what PromoGuy said! I’d love to know how you do your new style of illustration. 🙂

  6. Tricks of the trade! I can’t reveal all my secrets (or any for that matter) because I am a secretive kinda gal. I will tell you that it came through A LOT of playing, experimenting and studying of my favourite contemporary and vintage illustrators. 😉

  7. I totally understand, Claire… lol… so no need to share the tricks part of it. But I do have one gnawing question. Are they done completely in Illustrator, or do you still use a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop?

  8. I still do the line drawing / sketch in illustrator but then open it in photoshop and colour it all in layers. It’s pretty much exactly the same technique as my old style but with the black outline layer deleted at the end. All the textures and so on are done in photoshop.

  9. It’s really cute.
I like the way he did it.

Reminds me of Lenore the Dead Girl ehehhe

  10. Thanks April for clarifying my question, and thanks Claire for the answer.
I didn’t mean to seem like I was after your secrets 🙂

  11. I know all of Claire’s secrets and will shortly be selling them (individually of course) on Ebay to the highest bidder.
