Big-P and I are pretty happy
with the boy's name we have chosen for our little baby-x,
that's if he happens to be a boy. I won't actually put it
in here just yet because we may change our minds again or
I might jinx somehow or something. It's a very large name
once you add in the middle name and then tack both my last
name and Big-P's last name on to the end of it. He may have
a little trouble painting it on top of his kindergarten paintings
and later in life he is sure to run out of room when filling
in forms, having to squeeze it all into a limited space. But
with such a large name he is sure to be quite a responsible
type of person not unlike James
James Morrison Morrison Weatherby George Dupree. And if
not responsible he is sure to be an author or something that
requires lots of bits of name that you can initialise or stretch
out with hyphens and apostrophes.
While we agree on a lot of
boy's names, girl's names are a completely different story.
There are a few we independently like but so far there hasn't
been one single name we really agree upon, one name that makes
us say "Yes! That's it! Agree?"... "Agreed!!".
To make things even harder,
we have to avoid:
1.) All old school friends' names that bring back bad memories
(and seeing that I went to an all girl school and most of
my memories aren't great, that means a lot of names
get wiped off the potential list)
2.) All of Big-P's ex-girlfriends
3.) All names like Brittany, Taylah, Amber, Brianna or any
other name that has been thrashed to death these last few
years (sadly including Isabella, Ella and Hannah)
4.) Any names used by strippers
5.) Any names that our friends have already reserved or used
6.) Any names that sound bad with the last name
7.) The name of a girl who once rubbed Big-P's face in the
snow.
As a result my nightly reading
has now become "75,000+ Baby Names for the 21st Century".
That's a lot of names to get through before the end of September.
I am up to Avera so far.

Tomorrow is Saturday! The
best thing about this particular Saturday is that we don't
have to get up and go house hunting. Bliss.
