Sailing over a cardboard sea
I scanned in the inked version of my new drawing and have been playing with some colours in photoshop. Much fun. I have to work out how to deal with those big blocks of colour because I know that I am asking for trouble and blocked up gocco screens if I leave them as is. More work is needed.

Day 18: Wrote around 900 words today. It wasn’t a struggle really, but it was waffle. Feeling a bit lost with it at the moment – not quite sure if I am really saying anything worth saying at all. Hopefully when the heating comes back on, so will my enthusiasm.
This is beautiful! I love how the ‘Wild Things’ have influenced your boy – it looks fantastic.I have had some success with turning block colours into hatching (cross-crosses) but I don’t know how that would work for your painting. Can’t wait to see the end result – and great work on the word count. It might be waffle now, but it’ll turn around 🙂
Dear Loobylu,Came on to your site via Towards Sustainability – somehow managed to be following all these Aussie blogs – oh well! I get to hear about you all pulling in your harvest while I’m still being slackadaisical about planting mine. I thought I’d write you a note because I use my blog to help me meet my writing quota. I don’t have little kids though! I have mean step-teenagers…argggh! Nah, they’re mostly great and I have grownup men and grandkids too. The thing is that I try and write a thousand a day. I’ve got one novel sort of shelved – thinking that novels are like pancakes and the first one might be tossed – one half-way done the first draft, the third all the way done the first draft and stuck in transition with my editing – think the end sucks so that is probably why I’m just spinning my wheels on it. The last one I’ve just started is whizzing along for some reason. Think it may be the novel in me that HAS to be written. Realize this is a lot of blah blah but do come to my site and see what I’m up to. I’m a knitter and a really lousy sewer that used to make dolls and found myself back at it this long weekend. I also have chickens and a half-garden started and so forth. And I take photos and paint and clown sometimes. Anywhoozie you sound great and keep writing! A practice of 500 a day is great. I kept thinking I needed “a writer’s retreat” etc…but really I just need a daily practice.warmly,Jan aka Crazy Jane

With the biggest smile on his face, my nearly 4 year old – Owen – asked ‘how did they get up there?’ I asked him what colours it should be – he said a red moon and yellow stars (mmm…). we thought the children were Amelia and Lily.as for the writing waffle – getting it down and turning up to the page is what it’s all about – dewafflising comes later (well it does for me)!

Ooh, another gorgeous print in the making! I look forward to seeing the Gocco-ed result. I still need to get on with mine, I’m now wondering if I’ve been distracted with lots of other ‘important’ jobs or if I have just been a big chicken with using my Gocco… I suspect the later.

I second Pip’s Snuggie idea! We are hoping to get a pair for snugging up on the couch this winter. I am sure you have seen it, but thought I should mention in case you haven’t the paper moon display at Melbourne Museum. Lola loves to sit in it, and although the lighting is very poor we have a few sweet photos of her in it.
Oh! You did say you would create something with a moon theme. Brava! This is a neat picture.
