I don’t know about this

Big-P is trying to cut down on his carbohydrates. I am having great pleasure in sending him links to sites such as this: Esurientes. Mmm! So now that he is carb-defying himself this means no more homemade pizza! He’d better come up with a good substitute or there’s going to be trouble. I have a feeling that the BBQ might be brought out of hibernation in time for a Winter Wonderland of burgers.

  1. That’s so cruel!! All that bread looks so yummy. Actually I’ve been trying to cut back on my carbs too but at night time mostly. And carbs are good as long as they’re in moderation and of the good sort (wholewheat). So it sounds like wholewheat pizza bases are in order – yum!!!

I have to watch what kind of carbs I eat, and the overall amount too… long story. Just want to add that most low GI guides/books have good info about all of that (not an Atkins fan here).
On another note, that bread looks really great, and big P could eat some if he uses stoneground wholemeal flours to bake it! That includes the pizza base too – see, nobody needs to miss out 🙂

  3. Amber to the rescue: here’s a substitute for your homemade pizza. Soooo good.

  4. I’ve been watching Elie, a nutritionist on the Food Network and she has some great recipes. We’ve been making her egg salad wrap with a whole wheat tortilla, red peppers, spinach, and egg salad which consists of 2 eggs (only one yolk), 1 tsp. mayo, 1 tsp. dijon, 1 tsp. chopped onion (makes 1). It’s very healthy, filling, and quite good.

  5. Claire,I can relate! My husband decided to cut back on carbs about two months ago, around the same time we had our baby girl, Josie. It’s torture. You can’t feel full without carbs – and I am ravenously hungry with nursing (more than I was in the 3rd trimester). I miss homemade pizza too! Anyhow…hope all is well as the baby approaches. We were a nervous wreck, thinking how would we do with two little ones. I’m managing that & freelancing better than I thought – but I’ll admit, I’m definitely tired. Best wishes for a smooth delivery & take care!
