Movie number 93

We’ve had a big day – I’m really tired. There was dirt eating in the park, pink icing and coloured sprinkles all over the kitchen while making gingerbread stars, reasonless weeping at lunchtime and extended rice throwing at dinner (all her – not me). I have had a huge bowl of chicken makhani and a vodka and tonic and now I am going to flake out and watch Star Wars (number 93 on the Best of list) which we have obviously already seen countless times but the point is to watch all 100 in 2005… so Star Wars it is followed by Blade Runner if we can stay awake. Tonight I am not going to sew cats. Last night I tried to do some while being this tired and ended up stitching their heads on backwards.

  1. Checked out the top 100 list and I was amazed to find out we actually own 16 of them! I was shocked. I just might have to join you in your quest to watch all 100 – neat plan. Good luck.

  2. Can I just say that I love this blogging-every-day thing? It makes me happy to read what you are doing so often.

  3. I just wanted to say:
thank you so much for just doing what you do…

You have inspired me so completely, i feel like I’ve just woken up from a really bad dream, and there I am lying in a field of lavender with ants on my shoe.

I think this site is great.

    Thank you LoobyLu.

  4. I’m sorry Claire, but I’m happy to read you do weird things when tired… you’re human after all! I was beginning to doubt it, reading all the stuff you’re able to do in just one day… 😉

  5. I can’t sew at all. I’m pretty sure anything I make would be backwards… awake or not. 😡

I love your movie plan. But are you really planning to watch #86, Salo? I like to be challenged by my movies, but I feel like that would be waaay too much for my poor stomach. Rashomon (#10) and Seven Samurai (#23) are awesome, though- they got me started on Akira Kurosawa, and my life is much the better for it.

Blade Runner – what a fantastic film! Only question is which one do you watch? The Directors cut is the original film but was not released first as the studio thought people were stupid & needed a voice over to understand what was happening.
Maybe they had another reason but that’s what it boiled down to.
Fantastic view of a possible future society & Ridley Scott must have thought Pan Am were a sure bet to still be around but alas, no.
