Gocco fairy
My print gocco box is sitting on the lounge room floor. I have opened the lid and peered inside but it remains unpacked because it is FREAKING ME OUT!
It’s so huge! I ended up getting the PG Arts for Paper which does seem to be the big one but I wasn’t expecting a box to be delivered which made me momentarily believe I had won the local primary school raffle and had been delivered a new VW Bug.

Help! I am totally overwhelmed by the thing. I believe the box should include a personal assistant who pops out and says, “here, let me show you!”.
hee hee! I’m glad you drew the Gocco fairy emerging from his container, and not the potentially david-cronenberg-like exploding head moment from your previous entry!
I checked the Print Gocco web site and it starts off with “Though small in size …,” and mentions “Kitchen table convenient” not ‘loung room floor overwhelming’! Maybe you have to warm to it, edge up to it sideways, let it sink in before you go any further. Good Luck! Can’t wait to see what you do with it!
i was scared by the big box when i ordered mine too. and i even took a local workshop to learn how to use it first (http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/workshops/sf.html).
the good news: the directions make sense and include lots of pictures and big numbers to make sure you do it all in the right order. the scariest parts are putting the lightbulb in and throwing the disposable screen out when you are “done” printing (v. hard to do after years of using expensive silkscreens).

I checked it out on-line and it looked pretty intimidating to me, too. Let us know if you figure it out…you can give tips, maybe. GOOD LUCK!
Oh don’t be afraid of the gocco. I just got mine a few weeks ago and it really is as easy as everyone says it is. I’m OBSESSED with it. PS. Jennifer- you don’t have to throw out the screens if you don’t want to, just coat the cardboard screen edges with some glue and they’ll withstand the washing better.

I can’t wait to see what you make either! I know how you feel, though. My print gocco is still in it’s box, unused. I am sure it’s feeling neglected, but I can’t muster up the courage to use it yet.
Open it! Open it! I’m just dying to hear more about it….I’ve been coveting the Royal Gocco for sometime now too.

I think I know just how you feel. When my great big printing press arrived I was just plaind scared to use it!*L* I kept thinking, what if I dont like it? Or I make crap work and it cost $2000.00? So I sort of looked at it for a month till it was more stressful not to use it than using it*L*
Im sure you are much more sensible than me though : )
