"I made a cat....but I dont think it is vintage at all......So I tried to give her 2 long long legs in order to make her a fashion model....Honestly, it looks like an ET more than a model."

Moment of Stars
"i've been working on these for days and days. bottle caps, mod podge, vintage sewing patterns, a circle cutter, gold spraypaint, pinbacks, and beads. each bead was glued on one by one. oh man, it was a tedious job. it's not too much of a "softie" but it was the first idea i had when thinking of "vintage catwalk". i had fun with this project!"

"I had been collecting Civil War reproduction fabrics for a quilt I am starting this week, and I thought they would look great in the form of a vintage cat doll! Good timing!"

"she's stuffed with plastic grocery bags! i was trying to think of something around the house so i wouldn't have to go anywhere and recycling is always good russell said if i didn't like how it worked i could always let the bag out of the cat. har har"

"Meet Mr. Meow Meow! (say it through your nose). He is made of a vintage felted sweater, and old buttons and a zipper from my gram's OCD stash. He hangs on my wall to keep me company. He is a feisty dude! He insisted on wearing a tie.... his "woman" is in the process of being finished"

"I tried to make a vintage looking cat, though she looks very St. Patrick's day due to all the green! I handsewed most of her, it was quite relaxing. Sometimes its real nice to sit down and handsew."

"my vintage item for the catwalk stems from a visit to Aunt Loretta's in Palm Springs, CA, at Christmastime. Actually, she's my sweetheart's Aunt Loretta. She was raving about handknit dishcloths, which I had heard of, but hadn't ever seen. They just seemed so ... archaic. But sweet, and so simple to make!"

"You had me stumped for quite some time as to what to make, as I'm not really a "cat person". But lo and behold, one of those remarkable Japanese books jumped out at me when I was cleaning up, so here she is!"

"Been so obsessed by the socks that my niece's Kitty hat has been languishing in the background waiting for its tassels.
I also decided that it needed another row of the fluffy orange/pink/red yarn so I crocheted a chain of it along the top stripe's edge."
Link

Betsi McComb
" hope you love Madmoiselle Chatte as much as I do! She is made from a wool sweater vest I bought at the Salvation Army. Her Austrian Crystal earrings were my mother's as is her silk scarf. Her eyes are vintage rhinestone buttons. Her purse is made from a scrap of silk which I have quilted and embellished with a bead handle and colorful pink pearl accent. She is so glamorous, n'est pas?"

"unfortunately vintage kitty turned into more of a vintage mouse/squirrel fusion...i guess that is the beauty of fabrics and softie making though, you are never quite sure what with stuff up when you are working from scratch."

"Miss Kitty is made from recycled Rowan Calmer yarn and is wearing a simple wrap dress made with an oddment of Amy Butler vintage fabric. She also wears a pink flower necklace made by my 4 year old for her."

"I am making another one and trying to write down the pattern. I’ve got the head and torso done, but it isn’t coming out at all the same - :-)
Pretty soon I’ll have a whole litter of kittens because I want to make a mohair one and a black one, a long skinny one and on and on!"

"So I'd like to introduce you to Molly Ann, who is about to set out on her walk to school. She is 11" tall and made of black velveteen, blanket stitched in blue (I wouldn't recommend blanket stitching velveteen, especially anywhere near your computer - you end up with a fine layer of tiny velvet fibers all over everything, ask me how I know)."

"my original idea was to make a retro outfit for my real live cat, but i don't think she'd go for that."

I do a variety of projects from month to month.

" The theme of "Vintage Catwalk" reminded me of baby bibs and tea towels around the house when I was a child. They were very simply embroidered with only one one colour..."
Link

Trish Millener
"This is Odette, who loves all things French. Long scarves, toile
fabric, pointy shoes and of course, champagne, are just a few of her
favorites. She is made of wool felt and cotton, from a 1930's Laura
Wheeler pattern."

"I thought I'd join in... with this fatkitty I made called "ginger". She is dreaming of spring and sunny
days. (it is cold winter here.) I guess the vintage comes in with the
70s orangey/ brown / green color scheme and flower motif."

"You started life as a tribute to that classy lady, Audrey Hepburn... you are a beatnik kitty. Note the beret. You look so surprised and excited because you have just met your hero, the father of the Beat generation as we know it, Jack Purr-oac."

"This is Margaret and she's a blast from the past, 1970 to be specific. All the girls in her class are crushing on David Cassidy. She just turns up her nose. Secretly she is smitten with Buddy Holly. She thinks it's fortuitous that her full name is Margaret Susan."
