about the project & how to participate

Submitted by Sandra Griffith

"I've also made cloth dolls of Alice and the White Rabbit. However, I then decided I wanted to experiment with the fabric expressing (or trying to do so!) the 'spirit' of the piece. For example - the brown and gold swirly fabric to express 'lioness' or the dreamy blue expressing 'caterpillerness'. I also experimented with various ways to format the face and I like the caterpiller one the best. I haven't completed my softies for AinW - but I'm going away for a week - so wanted to send a couple of them. Final ones will be March Hare, Mad Hatter, King, Queen & Knave of Hearts and 2,5 &7 the playing cards who painted the roses red. These will fit into pockets in a folding cloth that will also contain some various level editions of AinW - the concept being that kids can read (or be read to) and play with the softies at the same time.
