Monday 4 March 2002
Unfortunately we missed out on the house.
As promised, I stayed home with Mum nervously nibbling on
slices of pear tart while Dad and Big-P went off to do the
scary bidding at the auction. Apparently there were 5 other
keen parties all bidding furiously and it quickly went way
beyond our limit, so obviously this place was not meant to
be. We don't really mind too much, it would have been a nice
way to getting out of spending every Saturday driving around
and around the suburbs looking at open inspections, but it
was very close to the freeway, and it was on a busy-ish road,
so it's not the end of the world.
As a result of not getting to buy a house,
we had to go to Borders and satisfy our spending urges with
some frantic book buying. I got a yoga book, the latest 2002
Children's Writers & Illustrators Market book and a couple
of novels while Big-P got a big fat book on Python... his
next steep learning curve.
So it's back to the hunt. In desperation
I had a look at realestate.com.au this morning and attempted
to widen our field a little by looking in areas which are
just way too far away... but wouldn't this
be nice?
Tonight we have yoga. Tomorrow I will be
motivated and go for a walk, clean my study and organise what
I need to do for March. Procrastination be gone.
