Spring bliss out - Weekend Update
Monday 3 September 2001

Quick update;

Lovely spring day yesterday. Spent a good deal of it sitting in Mum and Dad's back garden, drinking coffee and eating turkish delight while watching wattle birds flap around in mum's camellia bushes.

Saturday afternoon I found the dress, and although it is a little on the non-bridal side in colour (black), it is a drop dead delicious dress. If I only get to have one special dress in my life, this one will do me fine. So now I can stop stressing about finding a dress, and just stress about surviving a chilly evening in a backless wonder.

Saturday night Special-K, Big-P and I went out for drinks and dinner. After a couple of pre-dinner cocktails of intoxicating strength, we found ourselves walking the streets of the CBD craving hamburgers. Of course, McDonalds is hardly an option, so instead we found ourselves at the Hard Rock Cafe. Was that a big mistake - as I said, the drinks that led to this decision were of intoxicating strength. The noise (red hot chili peppers on the extremely loud sound system, drunken yobs at the next table) was unbelievable and my food was indigestible (especially on a slightly nervous, slightly swimming with alcohol belly)...

however, we managed to giggle our way through the experience and get away to further awaiting cocktails. When it comes to having a big night out, Big-P and I have no stamina, as Special-K will heartily agree. I don't know how we will manage to make it past 9.30pm on the night of nights.

So, it's less than a week until fray day... get your stories (of a true and personal nature) ready and join us for a night of readings, music and art happenings. If you have been wanting to contribute to the 1000 journals project, I will have one of the journals there to hand around on the night. Link
