A review of Birthday Celebration Cookies!

The best thing about Princess Meg is that she's always bringing treats in to the office for us. A highlight was the day she brought in apples to dip in honey (a Jewish tradition). But the birthday cookies really took the ... cookie! They're especially nice for people who love fruit and get sick of all those chocolatey sweets. And you don't have to be having a birthday to celebrate with these scrumptious cookies - they would also be great for a picnic or midnight snack. A cookie with a combination of nuts, fruit AND chocolate - delightful!

I'm giving these cookies 4 out 5 (I would have given 5, but then Princess Meg wouldn't have anything to aim for next time).

A review of Rockin' N's Review of the Birthday Celebration Cookies! (above)

Rockin' N's review of Princess Meg's cookie recipe starts well. The discussion of Princess Meg's previous culinary efforts remind us of the long tradition of Princess Meg-made office treats, and serves as a passable introduction to the Princess Meg ouevre for those who are unfamiliar with it.

Rockin' N's listing of notable features of the cookies (describing them as "especially nice for people who love fruit and get sick of all those chocolatey sweets") helps focus the reader's attention on some key attributes of the cookies (such as their fruit content and lack of reliance on chocolate-based ingredients), and might get some users thinking of other good points of the cookies. Comments like this, as well as other suggested uses for the cookies ("picnic or midnight snack") may be helpful starting points for "workshop"-style discussions of the cookie recipe.

However, one thing is missing from the review. Rockin' N clearly hasn't tried to make the recipe herself, and you can see that her comments are restricted only to the taste of the cookies ("delightful"), and there is no comment on how easy the cookies are to prepare. This prevents the review from being a truly objective analysis of the cookies in question.

I'm giving Rockin' N's review 3 out of 5. I think this is a very promising effort from her first review, and shows a lot of potential. While her lack of depth is a disappointment, her appraisal of the cookies as "scrumptious" is an accurate one, and is sure to delight fans of Princess Meg's work.
