Entry thirteen - 11 January 2000

In which loobylu dreams of Fijian holidays…

The heat is addling my brain. Hot, gusting winds are blowing through my office window and like a total fool, I forgot to bring in my fan. I am supposed to be doing a ridiculous redesign but I can't for the life of me concentrate - so instead I've been drawing cats in Illustrator and listening to my Gerling record at high volume - not very professional at all.

Big-P and I picked up some island holiday brochures from STA this morning. He seems as keen as I am to get away and lie on a beach. Usually he's pretty resistant to the idea of going without computer contact for more than a weekend, but I guess it's been a pretty exhausting couple of weeks - plus he's mentioned taking a laptop.

We're thinking Fiji, which seems relatively cheap and only 5 hours there-abouts from Melbourne. I should get a guide book or get onto the lonely planet BB and check out when the rainy season is. Unless you know and you can tell me

We had a Lolaland meeting yesterday. I think I've mentioned Lolaland before - but just to be a little more informative: Lolaland is a creative writing / illustration web project which I started up last July. Of course - I can't say too much as it's such an awesome idea that I don't want to tempt some big-ass company to steal it. What I can say is that the launch date for the site is the last week of March and we are not all that much closer than when we started as far as development is concerned. I think we are revisiting the project plan next meeting as everyone in the group is always pretty busy doing other multimedia jobs/classes/projects.

Anyway - last night people brought along bits and pieces of content and we ate bucket loads of take away Indian food and we went around and around reading the stuff out loud. Everybody's writing is really, really good and some of it is hysterically funny. It was probably the best and most inspiring meeting yet. Everyone went away sounding very excited compared to other meetings which usually end with everyone being cranky and exhausted. Stay tuned.

I'm looking forward to the weekend… what day is it? Ugggh.
