Books for cooks jnr.
Amelia got really excited this evening when I suggested that we might have a Solstice dinner in December where we each choose something to prepare. Not only will it be the Solstice, but it will be six months since Lily was born and, while she has been a delightful baby, the first six months is pretty tough for one and all so reaching this milestone will be one for us to celebrate. Amelia decided she needed to do some research so out came all the kids’ cookbooks and her little stash of sticky bookmarks. As you can see actually settling on something is going to be a tough challenge but whatever it is it will surely be spectacular.

I for one want you to know this “mum” in the states has LOVED hearing from you every day.
All of those things you talked about hoping to convey ofen are conveyed by the subject matters you have chosen each day… sort of like the things unsaid.
I enjoy reading Lobbylu for the fun photos (I LOVE the one on the “Winter Solsticie” posting w. the cookbook full of post its…), your drive and mainly to know that there is someone else in the world truly excited about the little things in life.
I, for one, hope the increased blogging continues!

what cookbooks are your favorites? we just got “honest pretzel” and “pretend soup.” they have been loads of fun, and i’d like to get more! cooking with kids is great, isn’t it?

I have to admit to laughing out loud when I saw all of Amelia’s bookmarks! I know just how she feels. So many things to make, not nearly enough time.

aww. hehe. i have that same exact cookbook from when i was younger…except the only thing i ever attempted to make were the milkshakes so i can’t recommend a recipe 
but the milkshakes were great!

i used to love my children’s cookbook when i was a kid. it had this recipe for “smily sandwiches” that i made for my parents for saturday mornings. mmm…

If that’s the DK Kids’ Cookbook, get her to make the “Biscuit Cake”. It’s the yummiest thing ever!
