Superfantastico to the rescue!

We are in the process of potty training. It’s early days so I promised Amelia a little surprise if she complied. After a fabulous effort I had to quickly rummage through a draw to find something suitably surprising. Luckily I found a packet of Superfantastico buttons — one which was absolutely perfect for such an occasion. Can you guess which one?

And as promised, here is the gallery of prints. Big-P and I are still working on the online payment facility — and rather than put it up tonight full of mistakes and disasters I think I will finish it when I can think straight. Soon!

Also, just to let you know that if you are going down to see the show at Hudson, the store is open from Monday to Sunday, 11am to 5.30pm.

The print “Night Flowers” is wonderful! The whole theme of night picnic reminds me of “hanami” in Japan where everyone gathers under the cherry blossom trees when they’re in full bloom. I was lucky enough to be a part of it the first time I went to Japan to meet my husband’s family. It was truly magical! I hope to be one of the lucky people to own “Night Flowers”. I was thinking of having it framed for my daughter Claire’s room but I just might keep it for myself!

I love your work- illustrations and those pears are so cute.Reminds me of a toy I had from Hawaii years ago which was a whale with a staw hat and made with red hawaiian material. Cute!I’d love if you checked out my website- I’ve got a blog too. It would be great to add you to my links if your interested?!?!?

Good luck with the potty training! We just got #2 potty trained. She was very reluctant to be wearing underpants but once we really made up our minds that we were done with diapers, she fell in line. She has not had a single accident. (knock on wood!) With both of our kids, we just had to decide to do it and tell them that was the end of diapers. It took a few dys with our son and she did it pretty quickly. The pull up thing didnt work for us. At any rate, you will love it when it happens! Hang in there!

Your prints are beautiful! Are you taking reservations? I adore Lost.

They’re soooo very gorgeous! If I had a little girl I would plaster her room in them! They capture such a feeling of whimsy, with enough of a mysterious underlying darkness to make them entirely captivating. You should totally write a story about them, and turn it all into a children’s book.

Congratulations on your show and prints gallery. Your toys sitting in the window make me want to jump on a plane and go to Melbourne right away so I can see them in person. They are the best!

Oh! Your work is extraordinary Claire! How does one go about purchasing one of your prints? (if they haven’t been snatched up by luckier people already) I saw the prices but am not sure where to purchase… perhaps I missed it. Beautiful work. These would be a fabulous addition to my daughters room!

My vote is for “Garden Hoe” – does she get to wear the fish net stockings and 4 inch stilettos as she’s doing the garden, digging the weeds?Good luck with the show, don’t think I’ll be able to stop by though.

ClaireThey are so beautiful. I could feel my cheeks glowing as I was looking at them, and I was transported back to my childhood, toasting marshmellows at night over a huge camp fire. My favourite is Night Flowers, but with two girls, how do I choose who gets it in their room ??? I eagerly await your next series. And would love to get to Balaclava to go in and have a look – am working on it. Cheers.

  21. rjpo@post.harvard.edu

My favorite is “Lantern Babies” because it reminds me of my two brown haired, brown eyed children, although I also love “Thermos.” I hope I can get my hands on one of them before they sell out. You do such wonderful work!

  22. annette@softlikekittens.com

Oh goodness! I’m going to have to refresh the prints page every half hour to make sure I don’t miss out on Night Flowers… (unless a reservation is possible??)

  23. cmggg_deco@yahoo.com

They are just amazing. And the things in the show, both toys and prints are really lovely. Congratilations! Unfortunatelly don´t live far enough to go and see them in person. Clara from Portugal

  24. pip@pipfugl.dk

I love Night flowers, too. Yesterday I just sat staring at it for several minutes. I can see how you’re inspired by Tove Jansson!Your work has a magical quality. I wish I had children so I could justify buying one of them.

  25. denise@centrs.com

Fabulous. You are not charging enough!! I like Freya. It’s almost a little creepy. You should definitely explore some surrealism a la Mark Ryden.

  26. leetusdesigns@ozemail.com.au

They are soooo beautiful Claire!!! I love the three girls..
I have finished potty training my son..after every bribe in the world, the one thing that always works is me jumping around saying “Im so proud of you..”. Now he says to my husband..”I need to go to the toilet so Mum is proud of me..” And that doesnt cost anything!!!!

  27. hillarylang@gmail.com

they’re gorgeous!! I keep coming back to look at them over and over. I love thermos the most – the little boy reminds me of my Oscar. I will have to keep stalking your site until they go on sale.

  28. mistic_ann@yahoo.com

LOVE LOST. It has so much feeling…that you could barely feel exactly like her. The environment helps a lot…your colors are amazing.Everything is well done..EXCELLENT JOB.
