Thursday Thursday

By this time on Thursday I will have had a little baby.
Big-P and I went on over to the doctor’s yesterday morning and he suggested that we should schedule a caesarean and get this little creature out into the world. How surreal. How very, very surreal.

How exciting and scary and amazing.

Not long now little boo.

Good luck with motherhood. You will have many years of hard slog ahead of you, but I guess that’s not the sort of thing you want to think about! hehe. Get lots of sleep now while you can! Best of luck to you and Phil – you two will make the cutest parents! *squeals*

  2. siggabeib@hotmail.com

congrats on the little baby! It’s spring in AustralΓa right? anyways, spring in Iceland is a lovely time of year to have a baby, you have the whole summer to look forward too.

  3. flummel@attbi.com

Quick…go to a movie, take a quiet drive, make something hot and spicy…then that will be it for 18 years. Good luck and use a pillow when you need to sneeze.

  4. kate@dorja.com

  6. erika@hillemacher.com

good luck, I’m sure you won’t need it.
And as my friend (who’s just had her babe via c-section) says: compared to a natural birth, it’s a piece of piss …
Her obstetrician wrinkled his brow at that.

    :e)

  7. eli@eli-nati.com

Congratulations! Don’t forget to keep us updated even after the birth. If you can. I don’t have one, so I have no personal experience with how overwhelming it can be. Good luck!

How exciting! At least with a Ceasar you know when it’s going to happen. (unless it happens sooner naturally, ooher.)

A poem for you…and happy birth to your baby πŸ˜€

    Antonella

    THESE LAST FEW HOURS

    It is important to me
    that I spend a part
of the next few hours here
alone with you in the darkness.

You and I will never be
    this close again.
    By morning you will be
    a tiny person
    all on your own.
    No longer the kicking,
    demanding bulge in my body
that I have grown to love so well.

I pray that God will safely guide you
    on your journey tonight,
and I ask Him for the strength
to help you all that I can.

    Again you signal,
    your impatience
    to be free…….

    Time to wake your Daddy

  14. marrije@eend.nl

Good luck on Thursday! One plus about a Cesaerean is that your baby will be guarenteed to have a nice, round head. (S)he’ll be extra cute that way.

I’ve never posted here, but I’ve been reading for awhile. Good luck, congratulations, and, although I’m not a parent, I was once a child (of course) and I think the best advice is to listen to lots of advice from people, but in the end, do what YOU think is best for your own child. I can’t wait to read more!

It won’t be long now and you’ll have a babe in your arms!
Hush Little Baby, Don’t say a word.
Lubbylu’s gonna buy you a mocking bird.

And if that mocking bird don’t sing,
Momma’s gonna buy you a diamond ring.

And if that diamond ring turns brass,
Momma’s gonna buy you a looking glass.

And if that looking glass should break,
Momma’s gonna bake you a birthday cake.

And if that birthday cake’s too tart,
Momma’s gonna buy you a horse and cart.

And if that horse and cart don’t go,
Momma’s gonna buy you a boat to row.

And if that rowing boat don’t float,
Momma’s gonna buy you a billy goat.

Hush little baby don’t say a word,
Momma’s gonna buy you a mocking bird.

  69. missus_schmalzer@eatdrinkandbemarried.com

Mister Schmalzer took the express bus home last night becasue I had a meeting and could not pick him up. When he got home he announced to me and Melanie, with whom I was meeting, he had a poem to share. He read it on the bus.
The Day I Met Myself and Me, by Alex who is twelve years old.

    I zoom up the atmosphere.
Through Hubble I see myself on Pluto.
I say hello, but he can’t hear me in space.
I do the Hokey-Pokey and he understands.
We meet on Mars and startle me playing Monopoly.
It’s scorching hot so we play leap frog in the cool canals.

Claire: Imagine all the amazing poems you will be reading as little boo grows.
